One website I've enjoyed for many years now is reelradio.com They have hundreds of airchecks from the R&R era, both 'scoped & un'scoped. SO MUCH FUN!!! It used to be all free, but they couldn't keep it up so they ask for a minimum of only $15 per year. Extremely well worth it. Anywho, I'm born & raised here in New York, and one thing we had here in the 60s, and 70s too, is that we had awesome Disc Jockeys. AND many of them, if not most of them STAYED in New York, and for many years. Legends such as Jack Spector, Harry Harrison, Scott Muni, Cousin Bucie (Bruce Morrow), Ron Lundi, 'Dandy' Dan Daniels, Ed Bair, and the best of all DAN INGRAM, and others. But listening to ReelRadio, I notice there were terrific DJs that never came to New York, legends like Jack Gale, Larry Lujack, 'The Real' Don Steele, Jack Armstrong, Jack Gale, Robert W. Morgan (not live anyway), Charlie Tuna, several other wonderful ones. Oh did I mention Jack Gale? Well, what I was wondering is, why did they move around so much? I mean, they'd go from city to city, state to state. Are you kidding me? Hey, if I owned a radio station I would sure as heck do what I can to keep a Jack Gale & Jack Armstrong aboard!!! So why did they move around so much? And how can they raise families that way?
