Has anyone else seen any or all of these shows that PBS stations air at fund raising time? They are produced by a young man named TJ Lubinsky. He is in his late 30's, so not even alive when these acts were at the top of the charts. He uses original artists whenever possible, and refuses to use "knockoff groups", of which there are many out there. The latest was just on here last week, featuring Bowzer, formerly of Sha Na Na, and Ronnie Specter. Oddly, Specter said that this was a rare time when she could sing her songs without going through legal stuff. Her ex, Phil Specter, must still have control over those songs. The musicians used on these shows are excellent. Including back up singers, the acts sound almost exactly as they did 40-50+ years ago. As many of these acts age and either can no longer perform, or are no longer with us, it is great to be able to allow them to be in the spotlight under excellent conditions, not some small club somewhere.
