Ed Graham holds a special place in my heart. He was the first PD to reject me for a job opening (summer 1976, age of 18, WITH Radio Baltimore) and the last GM to hire me for a full time on-air position (fall 1996, age of 38, WITH Radio Baltimore). Ed has one of the most dynamic voices in radio. At WITH in the 90's, he did some great things with the format...in spite of Bob Mathers. He put the stop sets back to an early 60's style, hired legendary R&B jocks to cover the nighttime, encouraged more jock ad-libs and personality, and was very proactive with station promotions (like the Meyerhoff concert in February 1997 featuring Lesley Gore, Freddy Cannon, Lou Christie, Bobby Lewis & The Coasters). It worked. Even the WQSR guys listened to us for ideas. Had Jack Gale & Buddy Deane bought WITH when Mark McNeil sold it in early 1997, the station would today be Baltimore's oldies authority. For all of Ed's greatness, his accomplishments pale next to those of Mrs. Graham. Just ask Buddy MacGregor. Thanks, Ed. The Lovely Janet is STILL Lovely. Bob
