Message Detail:
Ring-A-Ding Ding (2006) - John Pizzarelli. Stereo. I picked this "Dear Mr. Sinatra", CD up, on Telarc Jazz, when I read John was backed by The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra! Never heard of them before, so I thought I'd give them a listen! You know, listen to what Big Bands sound like these days and how they sound recorded digitally! Not bad, but I can't say I was totally impressed with the dynamics of the sound, so I personally spiced it up a little! Pretty fine Band! The drummer is impressive, only to find that's Jeff Hamilton (John Clayton is the conductor/bassist)! One thing I like, you won't find any overdubbing here as common as it is in Pop/Rock/Soul music, since this is a Direct Stream Digital recording! Thanks John and crew for keeping Big Band music alive! The instrumental break of the song...

One thing I enjoy about Big Bands, as in the past, what you hear is what happened in the recording studio, unlike a ton of Pop music, in one form or another, was mysteriously composed! The drummer, being an admirer of Buddy Rich, the drummer [RIP], Jeff Hamilton does a fine job of it, someone who I can really admire...
