The song "Charley My Boy" was actually written back in 1924 and dedicated to Charley Foy, one of the Seven Little Foys vaudeville act.

It was recorded by a lot of female vocalists then, including Judy Garfield.

It was more or less forgotten until it appeared as the theme tune for the 1956 TV Series "The Charlie Farrell Show" on CBS (and later on ABC). Re-runs of this show were appearing on US TV into the 1970's.
