Hi Bob, that is true. Your interview thing reminds me of a time when my friend interviewed producer, Jerry Ross. Afterwards, my friend told me what a sweet person Jerry was; thought the world of him. During that, I bought a CD produced by Jerry. It claimed everything was from the master tapes. A quick listen to the CD proved that to be a lie. Disgusted, I contacted the web site selling it and questioned its legality. Little did I know Jerry himself would reply, and I must say, Bob, that sweet guy my friend told me about suddenly turned sour.

So, put people in the spotlight, and they'll put a good act on. Come in their backdoor and you'll see a totally different person.

There's no excuse for Paul shutting down his e-mail/web site contact. If he had $250,000 to spend on tapes that got him sued, I'm sure he could afford to hire a staff to answer e-mail questions for him.

You claim when all the suing smoke cleared, Rhino released the stereo Paul Anka, but it seems others were doing that before, on CD. I buy a big CD set, produced by Paul, and I get pure monophonic sound, with what appears to include remakes of some of his Top 40 hits. But then Jim Liddane and I spot "stereo" CDs on Paul's site. Is Paul a nice person? In my mind, more of a deceiving person on a mission to gain as much money as he can get.

As far as Bobby Rydell: ABKCO finally allowed other to re-issue Bobby's LP's on CD - Collector's Choice label. Sadly, whatever was once published on LP, only exists in stereo on CD. "Forget Him", an excellent song, sadly, I don't believe is available in stereo, but I'll double check.
So sad how those Philly foundation artists, Rydell, Orlons, Checker, Tymes, Dovells, etc., got screwed because of people's greed. Often wondered why people fought in court over what could be published of the Cameo-Parkway catalog. Turns out, it may have been isolated to one or two artists, Bunny Sigler being one. That is why ABKCO had no other choice but to issue a remake of his Top 40 hit, while others, Bunny's producer, offers the real deal on CD. But even his producer doesn't know Bunny appeared in stereo, on LP. Luckily, us collectors can set the keen Philly producers straight!!! :-)

Thanks, Bob! Have a great holiday and best wishes and all!

Best,
John - in 100 degree weather.
