Depending on what CD you purchase, it's always a guess what songs will appear in actual Stereo. Even the (2) CD Japanese set doesn't have all his most popular ABC-Paramount recordings in Stereo. This one (enhanced) was published by EMI Music Group Australasia, 1994, with his ABC-Paramount recordings acquired from Castle Communications Ltd (found in the budget bin). Some say Paul regrets re-recording his ABC-Paramount hits for RCA Records - possibly because he never achieved a US Top 10 hit while at RCA and had to rely on his past recordings, because of the lack of a decent song writer. Another positive note about this particular CD, "(You're) Having My Baby", 1974, has superior sound than what Rhino's Paul Anka's Anniversary CD offers! Big German re-issue company would like to do a Paul Anka box set, but licensing seems to be the key issue why they can't. Can we blame Paul? Sure, why not!... Best, |
