Nice one John - she was one of yours I think, from New Jersey? I think Patty was from Camden, NJ. When I found this song on a couple different BMG (RCA)(RCA Camden) various artists CD sets, I questioned what part they played to offer it. Maybe they were the distributor for Herald Records. A BIG maybe. The song was recorded at Sound Plus studios in Philadelphia. The background vocals during the sax solo (missing from the "long" version) aren't by Patty or The Emblems, but by the producers, Frank Bendinelli and Leroy Lovett! Who says producers can't sing! Just nice to hear it in a bit better sound quality than typically heard. The person who I've been chatting with about this song, in e-mail, who knows a lot more about it, seems to believe one of the producers may have some recording tapes in his garage, possibly related to this song. Let's hope for a much better stereo edition than I created! Thank you, Jim!!! Best, |
