Jim: I have more than my share of Paul Anka CDs. I may even have that 15 Biggest Hits one. Maybe I'm getting confused with ABC and RCA recordings! Not sure what Paul has! I'm sure there had to be more than one Take of the songs! So, where are those? If he wanted to clean house at ABC he would had taken a lot of tapes with him! He would had to have taken both Session and Master tapes. Not sure why Rhino would have published mono when stereo was available. Don't think these is any law preventing copying from one CD and using its contents (not in whole) on another! Yeah, eBay is great! Even found a CD with Patty & The Emblems "Mixed Up...." as a long, unpublished version. Not getting my hopes up! Even some of Bobby Rydell's material is surfacing in stereo! And, no, not on bootleg CDs from Canada! Duophonic was an exclusive Capitol Records name, I believe! Yeah, looked on Paul's site, too! I guess we'll have to buy on CD at a time and see what it has to offer! Keep in mind, this Sony sets also says "Stereo", but not all true! I thought for sure I'd find Lonely Boy in stereo on it, but not the case with most early recordings! But I would like that Diana LP, nice to have actual instrumental/vocal tracks handy!! That Diana LP looks strange, like it was later issued!! Anyway, thanks for all your help, Jim. Between us, we will put an end to this mistery! Thanks, partner! :-) Best, |
