Not sure any US Top 40 hit song included an age of romance younger than 16, at least not in the USA, even though marriage at the age of 9 years old is allowed in parts of this little world. One DJ even claimed Gary Puckett was a, well, for singing of a Young Girl. How devastating! Even Benny Mardonez charted his Into The Night, TWICE, with romance of a JUST 16 year old girl! Even The Beatles sang of romance with a JUST 17 year old girl, if you know what I mean! Even Marty Robbins sang of an ONLY 17 year old girl! Most male artist songs of the past included the phrase "little girl", never "short girl"! This young stuff tended to fade, until The Knack, for example, brought it to life again! So, there you have it; give me a US Top 40 song, by a male singer, with romance of a girl younger than 16! Hmmm? Certainly would make an interesting radio show!... Best,
