Subject: Perry Como, was RE: Paul Anka - What is More Common?

Message Detail:
Actually, quite liked Perry....

Odd story to tell about him.....

On the night back in 1958, 6th February I think, the Manchester United team (soccer John, bear with me), were involved in an aircrash at Munich, which almost wiped out the team.

Radio Luxembourg interrupted their programmes to bring us the sad news - delivered in a suitably sombre voice.

Then, as he ended, the presenter finished....

"And so from a tragic night in Munich, we return to the music of Perry Como and Magic Moments".

Reminds me of the time when one of my own DJ's finished reading the death notices, and continued....

"The Death Nptices Are Broadcast Every Morning On Radio Limerick at 8am - and now Eddie Cochran, and "Three Steps To Heaven".

You should have seen those phones lighting up!
