Female singer on this is Jackie Ward, who emerged a year or so later as Robin Ward and had a US Top 20 hit with a song called "Wonderful Summer", which peaked around the time JFK died, and which for that reason I suppose, always reminds me of that day. I have a feeling that the guy with the mock-Spanish voice is Mel Blanc, who used to do the cartoon voices on Bugs Bunny etc, but I could be wrong. Actually, I also liked Pat. (I know, I now lack any credibility), but some of his stuff like "Moody River" and "Big Cold Wind" was not at all bad. Bill Haley. Now Pat Boone. What will Liddane admit to liking next? Vic Damone? |
