Agree with you about the sound quality of "In The Still Of The Night", but then, it was not too bad for the only hit song recorded in the basement of a Catholic Church!

(Of course, the above might not be strictly true!)

It was actually recorded in rhe basement of a Catholic School, but surely there was a Church nearby?

And secondly, for all I know there may have been other hits recorded in Church basements.

But I never let the facts stand in the way of a good story!

I love "To The Aisle", which I think is the better song, but since "In The Still Of The Night" actually has the words "doo-wop" as part of the lyrics - it has stood the test of time better.

Hard to believe that it did not even make the Billboard Top 20 back when it was originally released!
