Subject: RE: Sound quality and types of records featured on programs

Message Detail:
There's no one more frustrated about these sound problems, believe me, then old Bobby boy. I spent several hours last night with the manual for the mixer board checking and rechecking the inputs, outputs, levels, the whole 9 yards.

I also rechecked the encoder speed. It is set it to 70kps.

I then recorded a new one hour show, and before I uploaded it to the site, I listened to it.

I'm glad I did.

The sound quality seemed richer and fuller, but I then heard about 54 minutes into the program...one of those 3 second speed fluctuations in the audio.

No, I didn't curse, cry, or break anything. Nor did I upload the show. No need for more hassles.

I just went to bed and got a good night's sleep. I'll be back at it again tonight.

Maybe the problem lies in the encoder I'm using. It worked so well for so long. Maybe it's the computer, although I went out and purchased a 40 gig external hard drive to fix the problem.

I don't know how, when, or what it will take to fix the issue. We'll keep working at it.

I'm going to try something else tonight when I re-record the latest show. We'll see if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

Bob
