Hi John

Not to worry, I'm not MIA - I was away for a while at the end of October, and when I got back, things seemed sort of quiet on the site for a while, so there was really nothing to respond to.

But I'm still around!

Honestly!

I liked your Johnny Burnette offering.

Incidentally, the "Jerry" to whom Snuff addresses his remarks, might have been Jerry Allison.

As you know, Jerry was also the drummer with The Crickets, and they had moved over from Coral to Liberty in 1960, after Buddy Holly's death.

While waiting for their own first release on Liberty, The Crickets did a lot of session work for Liberty - mainly with Johnny Burnette and Bobby Vee.

Bobby returned the favour, by appearing on (and writing) the flip side of the Crickets first Liberty release, and then making an album with them called "Bobby Vee Meets The Crickets", which oddly enough, was the highest charting Crickets release of all time.

By the way - do you believe in coincidences?

You posted a Johnny Burnette track yesterday.

Well for the last 46 years or so, I had been chasing around trying to find a Johnny Burnette track called "I Wanna Thank Your Folks" on Chancellor Records - and guess what - I laid hands on a nice clean 45rpm copy literally only today!

I also got hold of a single by a guy about whom I know nothing - his name is/was Keith Colley, and the song is called "Enamorado".

Also 1963 - I do not think it charted except in Chicago, but the condition is also superb.

So, a good result - for once!
