John as usual, I put things back to front and you are of course dead right.

What I think I said was Unit 4 covered Eddie Rambeau which is why he was not released in the UK, which would make no sense.

What I meant to say was the opposite - namely that Rambeau covered it which is why his version was not released in the UK.

However, his US follow-up "Mud", which sounded very like the instrumental backing from Unit 4's version of "Concrete & Clay", was released over here.

As you say, Eddie only got to 35 and Unit 4 + 2 made it to 28 or so with Concrete while Eddie did nothing with "Mud".

It must be all this Kum Ba Ya talk - I am getting even more absent-minded than ever.

By the way, is/was there ever an Eddie Rambeau album?

He wrote a few Top 40 hits such as "Navy Blue" for Diane Renay and things for the 4 Seasons.
