This could perhaps be a theme show, although I am not sure that there are actally very many of these. The discussion about the Tim More vs. Art Garfunkel versions of Second Avenue got me thinking about such songs. I can think of two others. In 1967, Bobby Vee and Kenny O'Dell both charted at the same time with Beautiful People. At one time, I believe that the two were back to back in the Billboard charts. While both were top 40, neither cracked the top 20. In 1978, Nigel Olsson, who was Elton John's drummer, had a top 20 song called Dancin' Shoes. That song was written by Carl Storie, who is a native of my own area, central Indiana. Carl's band, The Faith Band, with Carl on lead vocals, recorded this song first. Both versions were released around the same time, but with Olsson being the bigger "name", his song charted the higher of the two versions. Anyone else think of any other such cases where there were two songs on the charts at the same time by different artists? Bill
