Message Detail:
Hi Rosie,

Thanks for your comments. I appreciate your honesty and openness in writing.

I'd like to address them.

First of all, when you look at the CONTEXT of my greetings, why in the world would you be offended by my desire to be sensitive to folks who are feeling gloomy? Tell me, what kind of advice would you give to someone who is feeling lonely, depressed, even suicidal? 'Tough luck, kid'? Or how about, 'I'm sorry'? Many people have hurting hearts at this time of year...and judging from the tone of your letter, you may be one of them.

I find that people who are offended by Christ are actually scared to open up to Him because they feel they'll have to give up something.

Sometimes, those that despise the things of Christ fall back on the convenient 'Christians are hypocrites' line. Well, Christians can be and sometimes are hypocrites when they fall into sin. That's why we need the Lord. He disciplines the Christian when he messes up, but never stops loving him or her and will always restore the Christian when the sin is confessed.

Non-Christians are hypocrites too, but sadly without the Lord do not have the reconciliation available when they fall down.

When we stand before the Lord individually, we stand as souls face to face who will have to give account of not how good we were...but what we did with Christ, and His offer of forgiveness when He went to the cross and died for the sins of anyone who would come to Him.

He loves you and wants to be your savior, but the bible says if we die without having come to Him for salvation, He will then be the judge. That will not be pleasant.

I am compelled to tell you that. It is in the scriptures.

Rosie, if you don't have hope, peace, and joy in your life...and the promise of eternal life, then what do you have to give up?

Are the things of this world giving you true peace and comfort? Whatever you may have materially, you can't take them with you...so you're only borrowing them for a short time.

You call me a preacher.

I stand convicted.

But preaching is not bad...when it is the Good News that is being shared. It's a message of hope, and not condemnation.

It's ironic how a person can be comfortable with carnal, disrespectful and hurtful content heard on many big name shows and networks today...yet have a real problem with someone who is a broadcaster AND a believer in Jesus?

I'm not preaching at you or anyone. I want to correct that assumption on your part. However, as a sinner no better than you or anyone else...the love of Christ and what He has done to turn my life around is so wonderful that I can't keep quiet about it....because what He is doing for me...He can and will do for anyone who seeks Him...including you.

The forum is really intended to be for radio content. 99% of the time, that's what you get. So, I post a message meant to encourage and you're offended. If I were convicted about my negative attitude toward Christ, I'd be offended too. I don't take it personally. I understand.

Thanks for writing Rosie. If you want to discuss this with me personally, my email and phone number are always available to you.

Sincerely,

Bob
