Ah - the Japanese. Wonderful people. Such a devotion to the past. Harpers Bizarre....The Lettermen.... The Association... The 4 Seasons.... The list goes on and on. The Japanese treat great material like gold dust. And - it actually makes them money as well! There are people out rhere (as you know John), who worship the true, the original, the beautiful - and they will buy if it can be produced. The Japanese realise this - and they produce it. So why do the people who own the material, not recognise it? Simply because the labels do not know they are sitting on this material, due to the fact that they will not employ people who know what they own. Labels (and I must add publishers) have bought up so many companies and much material now, that they no longer know what they own. And even if they know what they have, they are not sure where they have it. Sad really. |
