John No we have nothing like that probably because our record sales are way below yours in the US,we only have a population of around 60 million compared to around 300 million in The States. Regarding the various catagories of music C&W has never had any real following over here & Northern Soul has rarely charted as it only has a small but loyal following. To give you an idea of how different our charts were here in the 50's- 70's such names as Etta James,Bobby Bland,Bobby Vinton,Jerry Butler,Johnny Rivers,Paul Revere have had almost no success at all. |
