Saw a photo with Dobkins, Freddy Cannon and Johnny Tillotson (I think) together.

He got around. Everybody seems to have worked with him at some stage or other.

He never really depended on hit records (just as well since he had so few), but on his stage act, which meant that even without a record contract, he worked constantly anyway.

And he was great on stage. Probably still is.

Love Johnny Tillotson - great songwriter too.

Freddie Cannon is an acquired taste - but I really liked "Palisades Park".

It was written by Chuck Barris, the guy whose life story was featured in the movie "Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind". He produced a lot of hit TV shows like "The Dating Game" and claimed to have been an assassin for the CIA, as well as being a songwriter!

Would love to interview him.

On second thoughts, perhaps not. Once he'd told me everything, he would probably have to kill me.

Still, what a way to go.
