Actually I had no soooner posted than I remembered - it was Ray Campi.

Anyway, reading all the posts that came in while I was away, I saw your Mantovani thread.

By a weird coincidence, we were looking for a recording yesterdsy of the "Theme From Lolita", and discovered that the only version I had was a 45rpm by (you guessed it) Mantovani.

It was on Decca - and the date was 1965 - so no matter what the reference works say, he was still on Decca into the sixties.

Nor could it have been a re-issue of an old recording, as the "Theme From Lolita" itself was not composed until 1962.
