When I was on the air in the top-40 days, I just couldn't see anyone going into a record store and buying Petite Fleur, Theme from the Apartment, Topsy, Apache, or Exodus - - and they are some of the good ones. Sleep Walk and some others may have been legitimate hits. I think the others were turntable hits." I take exception to this........ what about "Theme from A Summer Place"; "Wheels"; "Guitar Boogie Shuffle"?; "Last Date"; "Bonanza"; "The Stripper" and on and on..... LOTS of good instrumentals back then. Hey! I bought them!! You played them, have you no appreciation? |
