I bought that record when I was a kid (She's a Rainbow). The flip side of that song is '2000 Light Years from Home,' which I thought was quite a bit better song than Rainbow. But it was 'She's a Rainbow' that made the Top 40 charts, while the flipside didn't. But honestly, '2000 Light Years' probably wasn't suited for Top 40 airplay, only because of the length of the recording.
