As far back as I can remember, most of the early Rolling Stones (London/Decca Records) material was radio broadcasted in monophonic. Nothing at all wrong with that, as some stereo cuts take time to get used to. One particular radio station in my area plays cuts from the US issued ABKCO CDs. Some cuts sound atrocious, such as simulated, lopsided stereo, certainly not my idea of HD Radio material. Categorized as Classic Rock, since most songs don't obey any ideal time length. As with most groups, more emphasis was placed on making the 45 singles sound superior. However, in this particular case, I don't believe this was ever issued in the US as a single, hence a monophonic LP. Their stereo song catalog appears in disarray, seldom do I hear excellent studio quality recordings, only fair to good, from bootlegs to legitimate releases. In other words, I never find their early songs remixed/remastered, in stereo, let alone being sound enhanced. I personally attempt to improve them. Was never a big fan of The Rolling Stones, only until I got a whiff of their stereo material and beyond. The Jagger/Richard compositions go to the extremes with lyric content; risqué, to say the least. It's no wonder why they have many fans/followers. I edited this particular song, since I like the opening and ending. Have a great day everyone! Best, |
