Subject: Off Topic: CD Review - The Essential Johnny Mathis

Message Detail:

Doesn't contain all his US Top 40 Hits, throughout the decades, though it could have.

Found it (still sealed) in the CD budget bin. Not a bad bargain (40 songs) at about $.18 per song. No mention of "Remastering". When I find CD sets like this in the budget bin, it generally means there's a more comprehensive, larger CD set available, possibly a "box" set.

It's odd to find "Chances Are", a #1 US Hit, as a "mono recording" on this CD set, but Stereo, outside the USA...

Never heard of the Mastering Engineer, Darcy M. Proper, but we'll see what kind of quality sound he offers, once I open and play the CDs!

Best,
John
