Subject: RE: Pop Instrumental - Bill Pursell - Our Winter Love - 1963

Message Detail:
Is this not a most beautiful piece of work?

There is also a superb vocal version by The Lettermen.

Beautiful song.

He went on to play piano on lots of country hits, by such people as Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson etc.

The last I heard of him he had become Dr William Pursell - Professor Of Music at Belmont University in Nashville!

What's more, he is still performing live.

Incidentally, not sure if you have got the single 45rpm in front of you, but it so, look down the label. The orchestra is conducted by Bill Justis (of "Raunchy" fame) and the orchestra leader is Grady Martin!

Song was written by the Canadian trumpeter Johnny Cowell, who is 81 or more now, and still performing.
