Great memories.

I too had the problem with our own DJs when they took the lazy way out by running an instrumental up to the news - and as you rightly say - it drove listeners up the wall when they faded it early.

The ones you mention you did not like - I also hated - particularly Music Box Dancer, but I did omit three I rather liked back then - namely "Our Winter Love" by Bill Pursell, "Raunchy" by Bill Justis and "Quite A Party" by the Fireballs.
