Okay on the Brunswick history! Knew they went back in time with recordings. Only familiar with the 'stuff" I grew up with... Barbara Acklin, Lavern Baker, Tyrone Davis, etc.. Jim wrote: Incidentally, I did not know there was a market in advertisements - they are a great source of history. I still have all my Billboard magazines from the sixties and seventies onwards, and they are great to read back over. Cool! I hear there's an archive of them, online! Not complete, but not bad, I hear! Free. While I personally enjoy CDs and music, it's nothing like collecting vinyl, where you held a piece of history. So I'm collecting printed material, and that helps replace the vinyl interest. And, yes, a wealth of interesting information! On another note, I have three Tony Bennett CDs, even the (3) CD "Essential". Sony-BMG and their "Strategic" marketing, like others, refuses to put his US best charting hit on any of them! Though I do like his "Firefly" :-) My, hopefully, new Webmaster for my *new* site has Tony's first 78 RPM (194x) where Tony recorded under the name of Joe Bahr, or something like that! Thanks Jim!
