The family and associates of Jimmy Dee appreciate your prayers. Jimmy had decided to let nature take it's course and not have the surgery. Jimmy didn't want to burden his family in any manner. The financial burden on the family is great. However, 'Baby', being the only person on earth that can get through Jimmy's thick skull, convinced him to have the surgery which will be a by-pass of the main artery and the insertion of two stents. His physicians are amazed that Jimmy has been doing what he does with less than 20% blood flow into his heart. He just smiles that little smile of his and winks at those that understand what he does, that God is in charge. The surgery by Dr. Russell Ronson is set for 7:00am, Thursday, February 12 at Brookwood Medical Center. Your prayers are appreciated. Jimmy's son, Shawn, has committed to try to keep the family going while Dad heals. Jimmy plans to spend Valentine's Day with Baby. We all believe he will. We thank all of you who have written, sent him email and helped in so many ways. Jimmy sends his thanks to everyone. I plan to post updates on his website as we progress into the surgery and the healing process. We all hope to see Jimmy back performing by mid April. Steve Burrows |
