Brilliant stuff. I never knew the intro was available commercially any longer although it was on the album at the time, which annoyed me, as I had bought the album purely because my 45 had been "borrowed" and had never returned.

If I remember correctly the guy who wrote that was lead singer with the Fireflies - cannot remember his name right now - it'll come to me eventually!

"One Track Mind" was good as well, but the follow-ups "Mamie In The Afternoon" etc., all sounded the same, which was a pity.

I think Bob mentioned once that he knew Bobby Lewis and that he was a really nice guy.

Spent much of last night looking at some YouTube stuff - in particular a recent appearance by Gene Chandler, doing a live version of "Duke Of Earl". You'd swear it was the record - it is that good!

Also the Tokens doing "Tonight I Fell In Love" and the Hondells doing "Little Honda". All sounded excellent.

YouTube is great - to be still able to see all the stuff from the 50's and 60's (Danny & The Juniors - Freddie Cannon) that I never knew still existed.

Who saved all this stuff? They oughta get a medal.
