In a year laden with change for your obedient orator of oldies, here's one more to close the year. I mentioned a few weeks back that I was going to Seattle for a wedding around the holidays. Well I did. Mine. I was married on Christmas Eve (last night) here in Seattle. Elaine and I tied the knot after getting to know each other over the past 17 months. A very small and intimate gathering of 7 people. And we all had a nice time. I first went out with her on the same day my beloved mom went to be with the Lord. There's something symbolic about that. Elaine has worked with the same company in Seattle for 28 years and she has become a support for me through these challenging first few months in Alabama...even though we've been living apart since Labor Day. She was born in the Bronx and moved to Queens as a teenager and although she's lived in Seattle for 30 years...you wouldn't know it to hear her New Yawk accent. Plans are for her to sell her home in the Spring and move down to Alabamy with me. 2008. What a year....
