Good 96kbps choice! 80 is too weak, 128 a bit too much. However, pending on recording, it may take 128 to rid of some unusual distortion. My mentor, Walter Jung, who wote the book on how to build an audiophile phono cartridge preamp, that I built, said my '50's snippets sound good, even on computer speakers.
