Jim added: It is not cheaper to publish US songs in the UK (the rates are standardised) - but it may well be cheaper (depending on the deal) to release US recordings in the UK as the record label rights are often negotiable. Hmm?? Okay!! I was also told, record companies abroad didn't have to pay royalties to the US artists. So many different stories! So, it must be a complex situation wherever you are! Saturday Night Live (comical US night show) was sued for using (4) four note of a song, I think, in their opening. Unreal!!! Found that amazing! Jim, I forget the exact sequence of letters, MFPS, often found on imported music material. I once thought it was a sign of a cheap CD (remakes and such), since I saw many of the labels I don't prefer to purchase, putting those letters in clear view, on the CD. I assume that's the governing body abroad for copyrighted music material? Website: Thanks, Jim! Once I become rich and famous, like Bob, I'll get you out of that Edsel! :-)))) Best, |
