Hi Paul,

Glad you enjoyed the treatment of another great concept.

The Darin anecdote is one of several that Mr. Deane conveyed to me in many chat sessions we enjoyed over the years.

Buddy had every star of the rock era come through his show (Elvis & Ricky Nelson excepted), yet he had his favorites because they appeared so frequently and he got to know them. Those favorites included Bobby Darin, Brenda Lee, Lloyd Price, Bobby Rydell, and James Brown.

Buddy said one time that after he moved back to his hometown of Pine Bluff, Arkansas...he had a hand in bringing James Brown to that city for a benefit concert.

When James came off the plane and met Buddy on the tarmac, he loudly remarked to all within earshot, 'This is Buddy Deane, the first white man to put me on television!'

Ah, the good old days!
