A delayed reply but on the same theme I recently heard "it hurts to be in love" by Neil Sedaka.
It was never released when originally recorded as a demo & his voice was erased & replaced by Gene Pitneys,using the same music background.
This version has only recently been released(although a later Neil Sedaka version has long been available).If you get the chance it's well worth a listen
