Had to do some detective work with this version. It's slightly longer than Rhino Records "Best Of Lobo" CD version. We all know Big Tree Records was sold off to Atlantic Records, in or around 1974 and I'm sure Rhino had access to the master tapes, being they are owned by Warner. I decided to sync the two versions together to find why they were different lengths. To my surprise, they'd go in and out of sync. Some instruments on the Left Stereo Channel that were on the Right Stereo Channel, between versions. I came to the conclusion that this is a remake, and a darn good one at that! The clarity of the guitars and piano is outstanding. If I had to guess, from the recording quality, this was recorded in the late '70's, possibly later! If I heard Bob playing this version, I'd be e-mailing him, asking where he found this great sounding remastered version!! :-) Best, |
