HD Radio is a bust, always was a bust, and will continue to be a bust. The poobahs who operate these stations can't (or won't, or don't know how to) even grow listenership with conventional dial position broadcasting. HD will be an even bigger boondoggle than AM Stereo. People just don't care about it. As for satellite...not as much of a bust, but certaily not what the owners have promised sponsors. That's why they're hemorrhaging money. As long as the internet continues to provide people with access to the music not played by the 'big boys', and people give up waiting for them to do good radio and turn to ipods in desperation with the realization that having a jukebox provides variety not offerd by SATRAD or HD...the fragmentation will continue to increase.
