Hello again,

I enjoying the great line up of air checks. Those are some memories of radio the way it use to be.

As I listened, I also remembered when radio offered us drama, mystery, quiz and game shows, sci-fi, and a bit of everything else. That lasted until about 1959 when TV had captured the audience for those types of venue.

I remember listening to Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel, and others on radio up into the 1950s. It was great entertainment. We didn't have a TV in our home until 1954.

There are several good sites on the web that specialize in OTR (Old Time Radio), and most charge for the better sections of their site.

I thought, perhaps, you might want to insert an episode occasionally into your weekly line up of great radio.
To help get it started, I can send one or two shows from the 1950s to you. I don't have many, so it would be up to interested others to help add to the line up.

I can send an episode of HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL (1959)
and YOU BET YOUR LIFE (1950).

This would at least give those who never heard a good western and a great quiz show, starring Groucho Marx, the chance to experience radio as it was in those days before TV took the audience and left radio with nothing but music and news.
