Subject: Dave Clark 5 Singer Dies

Message Detail:
No, it was not Dave Clark, rather Mike Smith.
One of my listener's submissions to Bob was called Mistaken Identity, about groups named after a member who was not the lead singer. The DC5 was one of these groups.
Dave Clark was the group's drummer.

Smith had been ill for the last 5 years after a substaining major injuries in a fall. He had planned on attending the group's induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in two weeks. He was 64 years old. I always felt that the DC5 was one of the underappreciated artists of the British Invasion.
