The Disco Demolition debacle on the diamond took place on July 12, 1979. At that time, Donna Summer's Bad Girls was Hot Stuff, Anita Ward was ringing her bell, the Chic were having Good Times, the Sisters Sledge were family, and Peaches & Herb were reunited and both shakin' their groove things. Disco seemed to be bigger than ever, maybe more than during the Saturday Night Fever period. That's the irony in what went down (or rather, up) in Chicago that night. But Steve D. was the right guy for the job! Remember his minor hit "Do You Think I'm Disco"? It sure was prophetic: Maybe it's not too late to get back to rock 'n' roll. Jeff
