Norm, great comments! I'll try to keep this brief. During the '80's, when I collected vinyl records, I was amazed how good some of the '60's tunes sounded! Yeah, no longer from AM mono radio, but Stereo, with great fidelity! I hungered for more and more. Now I collect CDs. I never thought I'd be collecting '50's music, but the same thing occured - great sound and some stereo! My sister, with excitement, would tell me about songs she heard in (remastered) stereo, on the radio. She, too, grew up around AM mono radio! Never heard them sound so great! In a supermarket, I overheard two young girls chatting. One mentioned the song "Dizzy". That's a Tommy Roe hit! Yeah, Norm, even (pre)teens like '60's music. This music had foundation! Heck, I even like the Big Band sound, and I wasn't raised on that! There's a lot of material that was never heard on radio. The alternate versions, the out-takes, the false starts, etc.. I feel it deserves a chance! Best, |
