Bob asked: As far as Oldies 98.1 WOGL going HD? I don't think it's really gonna do anything positive for them. They have been, Bob, I guess, maybe a year or so. Not only them, but their sister CBS run/owned KWY News, 1060 AM! HD that! Both "reward" their listeners. Comcast is in on it. Seems the reason to become #1 Philly station, is so you can have advertisers dish out the big bucks to advertise. Possible reason why WOGL is phasing out early tunes - not the best sound quality, and sometimes ONLY monophonic is available! Does the world need HD radio and TV? Heck no! Just another marketing phase. Like I mentioned, we'll see more and more "services" and less and less manufacturing in the US. Anyway, I'd love to be instrumental in creating a unique radio show. Maybe even have Westwood One pick it up. No, no, that's CBS Radio! Got to get away from them! I'd even invest some of my money, not for a return, but to see an idea I have succeed! Early on, AM Stereo wasn't bad, but you needed a decent, strong signal to make it sound good! You know radio much better than I, Bob! Let's talk in e-mail! Best, |
