It's a toss-up, could be The Human Beinz, or it could be The Mammals (both recorded for Gateway Records). Yes, this is from The Beinz' Gateway Records days. The Gateway LP, I'm told, credits The Mammals, while the CD credits The Human Beinz. To me, it sounds like a young "Beinz", recording in 1966. For all I know, it could be both groups. However, I can't see Capitol Records offering The Beinz a record contract to record another groups' song! I was hoping someone who was in Gateway Records studio, that day, might pass by here! :-) Jim also wrote: What other famous star had to change his name when a record label typist mis-spelled it on a contract?
