Thanks for your kind reply. I will listen during October. It should be great fun to hear something rise up from the dust of more than four decades.

You know I didn't stop entertaining until the late eighties. I did some good tunes years after I started. You might say my voice matured, ha ha, well, anyway I became a better singer. My last studio recordings were done in Nashville, Tennessee and Muscle Shoals, Alabama during the late sixties. But I never charted again.

Over the years, I did meet many of the people we think of as legends today. Some are still around and musically active are Bobby Vee, Johnny Tillotson, both with many #1 Hits to their credit. Tommy Roe is another that comes to mind. And I have met all the original Comets, whom I consider to be the first rock 'n' roll band. These guys are older than I but can still play a great gig! Imagine an eighty year old rock drummer. You might catch them in Branson, Missouri at the Dick Clark Theater.

Also thanks for putting together the absolute best oldies site on the net. Your talent does not go un-noticed. Radio has gone through many changes and is now evolving into something entirely new through technology and programming strategies. However, the best radio remains exactly what you do at Ultimate Oldies. Done with good taste, good music, and remains entertaining time after time after time... which is the true test of the greatness.

I am priviliged to be able to enjoy your excellent programs, and you do add value to it with your commentary. Don't be afraid to add more, as it's always been worth listening. Wonderful radio talent.

It's a place I can count on being entertained, although, I must admit that sometimes in the evenings when I am listening, I may have a tendency to fall asleep. You know I'm getting up in the years. But I still love the music of the past. Yes, I do remember when it was very different than it is today.

Just today,I was thinking of my friend, Jim Varney. Most people remember him as Ernest of the movies, and the Beverly Hillbillies movie. Jim passed on from cancer about five years ago. What most people didn't know about him was he was an accomplished singer. The man had a beautiful singing voice. We use to hang out together and sing a few songs. He was a friend and is missed.

For the music and the memories
Your pal,

Jimmy
