"Jimmy Loves Mary Ann" - I had forgotten about it.

Agree with you. Great song. Better than "Brandy".

The charts?

What do they prove?

Between 1955 and 1962, only one Rock & Roll album featured in the Top 5 selling albums on Billboard and that was back in 1956 ("Elvis" by Elvis Presley).

All the rest were either folk or instrumental or MOR or movie albums, or similar nonsense.

I mean - just who were the Kingston Trio or Peter Paul & Mary or Henry Mancini or Shelley Berman or Bob Newhart, in comparison with Buddy Holly or Jerry Lee Lewis or Little Richard or Bill Haley or Fats Domino, or Chuck Berry or the Drifters or the Coasters (none of whom ever ever ever made the Top 5 in album sales)?

Before somebody replies to tell me who they were - I know who they were.

But seriously - in comparison???
