Reading that chapter and verse it's obvious that Isaiah is speaking to Ahaz and is asking Ahaz for him to ask for a sign to indicate that he would indeed crush his enemies. Obviously, that sign would have to occur during Ahaz's lifetime for him to see it and believe and not some distant time in the future. Verse 11. "Ask me for a sign, Ahaz to prove that I will indeed crush your enemies" |
