Well I'm real happy for him. He has one great voice.

I wonder will this show on live radio be an oldies show?

I guess with internet radio, it's not the same as having a toasty hot Mega-watt transmitter behind you!

Jim replies:

I guess so. At one stage, our own local station here went out on satellite, which back in 1995 was not all that usual, and so I used to get calls from London, the Canary Islands etc., which would be a lot like broadcasting in New Jersey on low transmission, but still ending up getting calls from California and Mexico.

But funny thing is - once the gimmick wore off, it was still the local calls you wanted to get.

I guess with internet radio, you do not get the same "instant" feeling you get with live transmission.

I admit that you never lose the itch for radio. It is a sort of drug really. (A pal of mine jokes that every time I pass within ten miles of a transmitter mast, my hair stands on end!)

There was a lot of truth in that Chapin song "WOLD".
