Well I'm real happy for him. He has one great voice. I wonder will this show on live radio be an oldies show? At one stage, our own local station here went out on satellite, which back in 1995 was not all that usual, and so I used to get calls from London, the Canary Islands etc., which would be a lot like broadcasting in New Jersey on low transmission, but still ending up getting calls from California and Mexico. But funny thing is - once the gimmick wore off, it was still the local calls you wanted to get. I guess with internet radio, you do not get the same "instant" feeling you get with live transmission. I admit that you never lose the itch for radio. It is a sort of drug really. (A pal of mine jokes that every time I pass within ten miles of a transmitter mast, my hair stands on end!) There was a lot of truth in that Chapin song "WOLD". |
