Norm writes..."While I can appreciate your sincerity Bob, I believe the problem that most people like yourself fall into is the notion that someone that could create this universe as it is, would be completely enraptured by the human race. I think you tend to humanize God." Norm...after re-reading your note...You're absolutely right in that scripture states that Jesus Himself is God who took the form of a human (born of a virgin) and came to earth to die for the sins of all men. The Bible says God created us in His image...namely to have thought, emotion, and will...and gave us dominion over the earth. That's in Genesis. God is love. I know you've heard that before. Love is a human emotion. Where did it come from? From God. There are volumes and volumes of evidence that God cares about humans. First of all, if He didn't care...then the sinless Jesus who walked the earth for 33 years and backed up every claim He ever made would not have had to die. As far as who dies and who lives in a tragedy...we should remember that God sees the 'big picture' where we see with finite eyes. As I stated earlier...the bible says that if we trust in Christ and Christ alone for salvation...we will have eternal life. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. To die having rejected Jesus' offer of salvation means eternal separation and punishment. No...we don't like to hear warnings like these because they make us uncomfortable. But any man who knows scripture would be doing a disservice if he kept it 'to himself' for fear of 'offending' someone with a different view. Be glad Jesus offers His salvation and gives you the free will to accept or reject. If you lived in an Islamic country...you'd either convert or they'd kill you. Bob
