"Sometimes lyrics were fabricated just to fill the song with something." You know, that's the story of "Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye." When it was recorded it was slated as the B-side of the single (believe it or not), and the group Steam thought it was such a bad song that they purposely added a whole bunch more "na nas" choruses toward the end to fatten it up nice and long, thinking DJs would immediately recognize it was not meant to be the hit side.
